Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Dallas Team Behind Alcott Chimney Dallas
We’re not a franchise dispatch board that sends whoever’s available. When you book a chimney sweep or inspection in Dallas, you’ll know the technician’s name before we arrive, and you’ll see their photo too. That’s because our crew has worked together long enough to know each other’s standards, and we’d rather you know who’s walking through your door. Every person below has passed the Threshold Standard background check and identity verification before ever stepping foot on a customer’s property. Here’s who you’ll actually meet.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been sweeping and inspecting chimneys in Dallas for 14 years, and he’s the person we send when a job looks complicated before we even arrive. His specialty is masonry fireplaces in older homes, the kind you find throughout Lakewood and the M Streets, where mortar joints have seen 60 or 70 Texas summers. Marcus holds his CSIA certification and has installed more DuraFlex liner systems than anyone else on our crew. Off the clock, he restores a 1972 Chevy C10 in his garage, which means he’s patient with things that are older than he is.
Dana R. – Senior Installer
Dana came to us from commercial HVAC and has spent the last nine years focused on chimney relining, HeatShield resurfacing, and gas fireplace repair across North Dallas and Richardson. She’s the one who can look at a cracked flue tile on camera and tell you in plain English whether it’s a safety issue now or something you can plan for in the spring. Dana is factory-trained on DuraFlex, Olympia Chimney, and Copperfield systems, and she’s the reason our written guarantees on repairs actually mean something. She keeps a sourdough starter named Bob and will absolutely talk about it if you ask.
Elena V. – Service Coordinator
Elena is the voice you’ll likely hear first when you call (361) 264-4483. She’s been with Alcott Chimney Dallas since 2019 and runs scheduling, written pricing, and the tech preview process that sends you a name and photo before anyone shows up. Elena grew up in Oak Cliff and knows Dallas weather well enough to tell you when a cold snap is about to back up our schedule for two weeks. She’s also the one who makes sure a live person answers at 11 p.m. when you smell something like smoke and you’re not sure if you should be worried.
Andre W. – Apprentice Technician
Andre joined us two years ago through a trade program and now rides along on sweeps and inspections across East Dallas, Mesquite, and Garland. He’s passed his background check and identity verification like everyone else, and he’s learning the craft the way we think it should be taught: camera inspections first, honest findings second, no scare tactics ever. Andre is the youngest person on the crew and the only one who actually understands our scheduling software. When he’s not on a roof or in a firebox, he plays bass in a band we’ve all agreed not to critique too harshly.
One Standard, Every Job
The thing that keeps a crew honest is knowing the person who booked the appointment sees your face before you arrive. That’s the Threshold Standard, and it applies to every technician who works under the Alcott name in Dallas. Background check, identity verification, uniform, photo ID badge at the door, every time, no exceptions. Ruben Castellano, our owner, put that in place because too many Dallas homeowners were letting strangers into their homes. A written price comes before any work begins. A written guarantee covers every repair, and if that repair fails within the coverage period, the second visit is free. That’s not a policy that comes from corporate. It comes from the crew knowing we’d rather do it right the first time than come back and explain ourselves. And when we do come back, we make it right at no charge. Marcus, Dana, Elena, Andre, and Ruben all work the same way because they’ve all seen what happens when companies don’t.
